A tool developed by SIL-Asia can be used to address the backlog and to be used while systems are developing the more stable solutions. The tool is currently being pilot tested to Baguio LGU which a backlog of around 16000 cases.

How does this work?

The tool converts the CSV files from the various LGUs into FHIR JSON formats, and it automates the consumption of the APIs of COVID Kaya to enable the submission of data to the COVID Kaya database. The conversion from CSV to JSON happens in the facility level, hence no server is needed to process the data. The pushing of data also happens from the facility level. However there limitations.

  1. Validation must be done at the facility level - to support this we developed a CSV file where data can be validated

  2. Various facilities may have different formats (or table headers). - hence data mapping must be done
