What is a DPG Accelerator Lab?

A Digital Public Good (DPG) Accelerator Lab is a laboratory to be housed under the UNICEF to support the acceleration of technologies that support the UNICEF programs:

• Health & Nutrition
• Child Protection
• Education

The accelarator lab will conduct the following activities:

Capacity Building

Community Engagement

Incubation of Technologies

Awareness Building

The model for setting up the accelerator lab is similar to the model used by UNDP accelerator labs, where the focus is on supporting technologies that support thematic areas on SDG attainment.

Goal of the Lab

The goal of the DPG Accelerator Lab is to support the incubation of ready to scale up and mature technologies.

Objectives

The following are the specific objectives of the DPG Accelerator Lab

• Identify potential technologies that can be supported by the Accelerator Lab
• Support Government, Academe and Private Sector in developing use cases for DPG use.
• Conduct capacity building on both the suppy side (technology providers) and demand side (potential clients) on the use, development and sustainability of DPGs.
• Increase the number of DPGA vetted technologies in the country
