Deped OER

The DepEd Open Educational Resources (OER) is an innovative pathway to connect the disconnected schools with its prime role to support the requirements of the K-12 Curriculum. It focuses on the ICT Assisted Teaching and ICT Assisted Learning whereas the customization of localized materials is made possible to deliver quality, accessible, relevant and liberating education for all even for schools without strong internet facilities. The OERs are designed in such a way to cater the needs for interactivity, digitization and delivery of 21st Century Skills to make learners future ready. This is the beginning of revolutionzing education in the Philippines to teach minds, touch hearts and transform lives of learners. Welcome to the new era of learning. This is Digital Rise.

Deped Commons

The Department of Education (DepEd) finds itself in a most challenging situation as it is forced to move out of its comfort zone, from the delivery” of its sendees through traditional face-to-face classroom instruction to finding new and unconventional ways of ensuring the continuity of education in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the mechanisms the Department is working on to boost the distance learning delivery modality in response to the health crisis is the DepEd Commons—an online platform to support the continuous delivery of basic education to Filipino learners. Originally a “response” to the 2012 Paris Open Education Resources (OER) Declaration to support the harvesting of and giving access to free online instructional supplementary materials, it is now rapidly evolving into a portal that will support multiple learning delivery modalities.

Project Marayum

Marayum is a dictionary making tool funded by the Department of Science and Technology that can be used as an online dictionary for Philippine indigenous languages. Maraum was developed to allow interested language communities to create an online dictionary whose content would be owned by its member and peer reviewed by language experts. The featured entries and content is a community based effort done by people who speak and practice the language.
